From the Sapita plot, the other “top” wine from CASAR DE BURBIA is born in a vineyard planted in 1903 located at the top of the slopes of Valtuille de Arriba. It is a mineral and very elegant wine that underscores the magnificent ripening of this vineyard, which faces the dawning sun. This plot is geologically unique because the soil has high mineral concentrations, due to the iron and molybdenum of the slate.
The complete vinification occurs in 500 liter French oak barrels, with a 14 day maceration finishing the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in new 225 and 700 liter French oak barrels. After spending 18 months in French oak, the wine is bottled and continues to age in bottle for various years before being introduced into the market.
